Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 14 October 2026
The short version
- Lesson Plan Gen makes CAPS lesson plans from your ATP. Always read and check a lesson plan before you use it in class.
- Each person gets one free trial of 3 weekly plans, after confirming their email. Please do not make extra accounts.
- After that, you buy weekly plans in packs (from 20 for R120). A weekly plan is all the lesson plans for one subject for one week. There is no subscription or debit order, and they do not expire.
- Changed your mind? Ask for a refund within 7 days of buying, if you have not used any lessons from that pack.
- Your ATPs, school formats and lesson plans stay yours.
1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Thandezinhle Trading and Enterprise (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2025/757478/07), who runs Lesson Plan Gen, Ezifisweni Reserve, Ward 7, Mtubatuba, KwaZulu-Natal, 3935. Contact us at info@lessonplangen.co.za or on WhatsApp at 071 737 7666.
By creating an account or using Lesson Plan Gen, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. Nothing in these terms takes away your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, 2002.
2. What Lesson Plan Gen does
Lesson Plan Gen reads the Annual Teaching Plan (ATP) you upload and prepares lesson plans for the weeks and topics in it, in your school’s lesson plan format or our standard CAPS format, ready to download for Microsoft Word. We may improve or change features over time.
3. Your account
- You must be 18 or older and use your own, real email address. You must confirm your email address before you can make lessons.
- One account is for one person. Do not share your account or password; you are responsible for what happens in your account.
- Keep your details correct. If you think someone else used your account, tell us straight away.
4. The free trial
Each person may have one free trial of 3 weekly plans, given when you confirm your email address (or straight away when you sign up with Google).
To keep this fair, a phone or computer can only start a limited number of free trials. If you share a device with a colleague, message us and we will give you your own trial. If we find that one person made several accounts to collect free weekly plans, we may remove those plans or close those accounts.
5. Lessons and payment
- Making one new lesson plan uses one lesson. Opening, saving and downloading your lesson plans is free. If a lesson does not finish because of a problem on our side, it is not counted.
- You buy weekly plans in packs, currently 20 for R120, 50 for R250 and 150 for R600. A weekly plan lets you make the lesson plans for one subject for one school week (up to 5 lessons); a teacher with several subjects uses one for each subject. Prices are in South African rand and are shown before you pay. There is no subscription and no debit order.
- You can pay by card or Instant EFT through PayFast, or by bank transfer (EFT). Bank transfers are added once the money shows in our account.
- Lessons you buy do not expire. They are linked to your account, cannot be moved to another person and have no cash value, except as described under refunds.
6. Cancelling and refunds
Cooling-off: you may cancel a lesson pack and get a full refund within 7 days of buying it, as long as you have not used any lessons from that pack. Once you start using a pack, you agree that the service has begun.
Our mistakes: if you are charged twice, or paid lessons were not added, we will fix it or refund you.
To ask for a refund, email or WhatsApp us with your name, email address and payment reference. Refunds are paid back the way you paid, usually within 14 days.
7. Your documents and lesson plans
You keep ownership of everything you upload (your ATPs and school formats) and the lesson plans made for you. You may use, change, print and share your lesson plans for teaching.
You allow us to store and process what you upload, including through the AI provider named in our Privacy Policy, only to provide Lesson Plan Gen to you.
Only upload documents you are allowed to use, such as Department of Basic Education ATPs and your school’s own formats. Do not upload learners’ personal information.
8. Checking AI-prepared lessons
Lesson plans are prepared with artificial intelligence from the ATP you upload. We work hard to keep them accurate and aligned to CAPS, but they can contain mistakes or miss something your learners need.
You are the teacher: always read and adapt a lesson plan before you use it, and make sure it suits your learners and your school’s requirements. Lesson Plan Gen is not an official Department of Basic Education product.
9. Fair use
Please do not:
- make extra accounts to get more free weekly plans, or share one paid account between several teachers;
- upload anything unlawful, harmful, or that you do not have the right to use;
- try to break, overload, copy or get around the service or its security, or use automated tools to access it;
- resell the service without our written permission.
If you break these terms, we may pause or close your account. Where possible we will tell you why first, and you can reply.
10. Closing your account
You can stop using Lesson Plan Gen at any time and ask us to delete your account by email or WhatsApp. Unused weekly plans are not refunded when you close your account, except under the cooling-off rule above. Please download any lesson plans you want to keep first.
11. Availability
We aim to keep Lesson Plan Gen running smoothly, but we cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. We may need to pause it for maintenance or updates. If we ever close the service, we will give you reasonable notice so you can download your lesson plans, and refund lessons you paid for but did not use.
12. Our responsibility
As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses, or for losses caused by lesson plans that were not checked before use. Our total responsibility to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. This does not limit any responsibility the law does not allow us to limit, including for gross negligence.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service grows. If a change is important, we will tell you by email or in the app before it applies. If you keep using Lesson Plan Gen after that, the new terms apply. Prices you already paid are never changed.
14. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of South Africa. If you have a complaint, please contact us first; we will try to sort it out within 14 days. You may also approach the National Consumer Commission or another body allowed by law.
